OUR SYSTEM
The Petrik Company has worked with soils for 70 years, looking to grow a healthy microbiology in the rhizosphere and phyllosphere through a proprietary management process (Petrik System) focused on microbiology.
Several components are addressed in the customized program to produce improved soil quality, friability, and active stable humus by proper decomposition and buildup of quality organic matter through the balancing of nutrients in the soil, specific organic matter inputs, evaluating watering practices, and timely applications of all products.
Emerging research is continuing to support the Petrik System philosophy.
Dr Neil Wilson, Microbial Ecologist with the University of Sydney, said at the National Biological Farming Conference held in Lismore, NSW, Australia in 2015;
"The importance of plant-microbe interactions have been greatly underestimated. Soil structure is maintained by the activity of soil microbes. The idea that soil health is simply an N,P,K, game is simply far to 'Plant-Centric'. Agricultural practices have focused largely on the plant to the detriment of plant-microbe interactions.
Farm the soil, and the plant will look after itself. Soil structure is the product of microbial activity".
